By default, the only way to get to a particular surface is by knowing its six-digit identifier (which forms part of its URL). For public surfaces, the id is effectively the password to the surface.

Sometimes though, you want your surfaces to be more easily discoverable, particularly when you also stamp the location of the surface. This lets people find nearby surfaces, for example.

Presently, people are only able to find surfaces near to their current location

To turn discoverable on or off, visit the "Details + Tools" panel, and check (or uncheck) the 'Discoverable' option. Your setting is saved immediately.

The title and id of the surface will be visible to nearby people when discoverable is enabled.
